Meet our hockey development leadership team

Adam Brower – Youth/Boys Travel Coordinator

Adam is a former HYHA player (Mites through Bantams), turned coach.  He has been a Co Head Coach of Peewee A for the past 5 seasons.  Adam played high school and college club hockey.  He also studied sports management at the college level and has been a dedicated part of the Player Development Committee.  Adam is enthusiastic about developing every player to their fullest potential.

Alex Fons – Goalie Development

Hopkins alumni, Alex Fons, will lead all levels of HYHA goalie development.  After leaving high school, Alex spent time in Sioux Falls and Alexandria before red-shirting his freshman year at the U of M. He then left to go back to junior hockey, joining the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.  Alex left Fairbanks in 2012 to join the UMD Bulldogs.  HYHA is very pleased to have him on our team.

Marty Sertich – Clinics

Marty is the Director of Tradition Hockey.  He received the Mr. Hockey Award in 2001 and went on to play for the Sioux Falls Stampede where he was named to the USHL All Star Team.  He next played for Colorado College, helping lead his team to the Frozen Four.  In 2005, he received the Hobey Baker Award.  He played professionally for 10 years and is now back in Minnesota and excited to help develop youth hockey players.

Andy Blaylock – Skating Skills

Andy is the General Manager and Training Protocol Designer at Competitive Edge.  He will be working with some of our youth players on skating and stick handling.
