Even though the ice is melted, the HYHA Board has been hard at work this summer, planning  for the upcoming season.  The Board approved a new Volunteer Policy, which shortens shifts and exempts parent head coaches from travel teams from one concession shift.  The Board also updated the Travel Policy, to ensure that our organization is following the best practices, and all USA Hockey, Minnesota Hockey, and District 3 rules.

Charitable gambling has been strong and the Board decided to invest in new jerseys.  The existing jerseys were over 10 years old and were overdue for replacement.  We look forward to seeing the kids in new, modern jerseys.  The Board also decided to use charitable gambling proceeds to lower some fees.  New this year, there will be no fee for travel team tryouts and all travel team pre-season clinic fees have been reduced by $40.  This represents a savings of $75 per player.  Registration will be opening in early August and we will once again offer a $50 early bird discount to those who complete their registration by August 31st.
