December 6-7, 2014

To kick off December, Hopkins Squirt B2 had an exciting and successful tournament in Alexandria.  In the opening game of the tournament, Hopkins beat St. Cloud Black 3-2, in overtime.  St. Cloud tied the game with an extra attacker and 6 seconds remaining in the 3rd period.  Ethan Hatzung stopped 22 shots and Dylan Braufman netted the game winner at 2:36 of overtime.  Hopkins dropped their second game to Delano 9-2 but came back strong for the 3rd place game on Sunday.  Hopkins jumped out early against Wayzata Blue and looked strong with a 7-3 lead.  Kaeden Erickson netted a hat trick in the first period for Hopkins.  At the end of the 3rd period it was 7-7.   There was no scoring in the overtime and the game moved to a 5 player shoot- out.  Goals were now 10-10 and we moved to a one-player shootout.  Ethan Hatzung stopped the Wayzata shot and Charlie Haub scored for Hopkins.  3rd Place.  Congratulations.
