Hopkins, MN - After a successful event last summer, the Hopkins Youth Hockey Association, (HYHA) is pleased to announce its professional wrestling celebration event at the Pavilion Saturday July 20th, 2013. Working in conjunction with the Hopkins Rotary Club, the Raspberry Festival, and Steel Domain Wresting, an entertaining evening of entertainment and fun will be provided for HYHA members and our communities. The HYHA is utilizing the event to launch registration for the 2013-14 season with in person registration available at the Pavilion. In addition, the event is also part of the ongoing HYHA mite recruitment effort where hockey and equipment is free to first time registering players. The HYHA values that at $300. It is a perfect way to try hockey with limited financial risk. "We continue to put our best effort forward to attract players to the HYHA," said mite coordinator Dan Hatzung. "There is some great momentum we are feeling and are looking forward to continuing our trend in growing the HYHA." Cory Peterson, the new boys high school coach and his staff will be introduced and on hand at the event to meet our hockey community. The HYHA and the High School program continue to work in partnership to bring the best possible hockey experience for the program. A pre-match party celebrating Hopkins Hockey and the Raspberry Festival will begin at 4:30pm prior to the match. Live music, food, vendors, and wrestling memorabilia will be available as the Hopkins Rotary Club and volunteers will host the party. Bell time is 6:30pm with fireworks immediately following at Central Park in Hopkins. "There were a lot of smiling faces at last year's event," organizer and Travel Coordinator Pete Waggoner said. "It is a great way to let your hair down, relax, enjoy each other and a fun event that celebrates not only Hopkins Hockey and the things we are doing with the HYHA but our community as a whole."
